With the LoY expansion players are allowed to create maps in game and share
these maps with others. All maps are stored in the EverQuest directory in a
folder simply called "maps". They are simply text files containing the line and text data
for each map. To replace or add a map download one of the following and
save as it into that directory, replacing the file that is in there. To submit a map
of your own design first place the 4 parts into one zip file and email it to me
.
A few guidelines for consistancy between maps;
Use the primary colors for your lines and try to match the line color by what you are
mapping, such as dark blue for water.
Use the Large tag size for most tags, things like ground spawns can be made smaller
as they only apply to specific quests.
To map objects with mostly north/south orientations, make small marks along each
wall, then use the Join at Intersection feature to neatly close the corners.
